Information we process
We process the technical information needed to deliver and secure the site, including request metadata, IP-address-derived rate-limit identifiers, and server logs. The private-beta gate and protected administration area use strictly necessary session cookies. If you contact us, we process the information in your message so that we can respond.
Research and AI providers
When the research pipeline runs, story queries, source titles, URLs, excerpts, and selected Reddit discussion material may be sent to configured providers. Exa is used for web and news research, and OpenAI is used to select candidates, synthesize briefings, compare sources, summarize sampled Reddit discussion, and translate published story content or source excerpts. Source excerpts can contain information about people that publishers have already made public.
Infrastructure providers
Cloudflare may process request and security information while providing the site tunnel, TLS, and access controls. The server hosting provider may process technical logs and infrastructure metadata needed to operate the service.
Why we process it
We process this information to provide editorial briefings, operate and secure the service, prevent abuse, investigate faults, understand provider costs, and respond to enquiries. Where consent is required for optional technologies, we will ask before using them.
Retention and your rights
Published briefing records and source links are retained as part of the editorial archive. Technical, rate-limit, provider-usage, and contact information is kept only for as long as reasonably needed for its purpose. You can ask about access, correction, deletion, restriction, or objection by contacting us. You may also raise a concern with the Information Commissioner's Office.
Changes
We will update this notice when the service, its providers, or its data practices materially change.
